Purpose: Express feelings, centralize ideas. Kids experience a variety of feelings just like adults. However, young kids usually don’t have the vocabulary to talk about how they feel. This is a great opportunity to help them express a certain feeling while playing and working together.
Requirements: String, clothespins, drawings, photos, clippings from catalogues and/or magazines, scissors, pins/small nails.
Number of participants: 1+
Age: 3+ (a young child must be accompanied by an adult for this activity)
Steps to follow:
- Get a string of at least 1 metre (3 feet) long for each participant
- Find a place in the participant’s room and attach the string at a reachable but safe height (depending on the age of the child)
- Choose a theme: my favourite winter vacations, my school, my joyful moments, my favourite vegetables, the animals of the Antarctic, my friends, planes, my family...
- Participants
- search images relevant to the theme in their photographs and/or magazines and cut them out
- search on the web for images to print
- draw something related to the theme
- write a poem or a story on the theme
- Fix the artwork on the string with the clothes pins
- Replace your artwork for new one whenever you feel like it: once a week, once a month, depending on the occasion!

- Plan an event by pinning ideas to the string
- Pin the recipes to try in the upcoming month
- List of tasks to do during the week
- Gather memories of someone you miss

Étapes à suivre :
- Prendre une corde d’au moins 1 mètre (3 pieds) de long pour chaque participant

- Les participants
- cherchent dans leurs photographies et/ou dans des magazines pour y découper des images relatives au thème choisi
- cherchent sur le web des images pour les imprimer
- dessinent à propos du thème
- écrivent un poème ou une histoire sur le thème
- Épingler les œuvres sur la corde installée
- Changer vos œuvres pour de nouvelles avec un nouveau thème quand bon vous semble : une fois par semaine, par mois, selon les occasions!
